Alternative Cancer Connection Blog

Below is an amazing blog post with a huge long list of the most popular alternative cancer clinics in Germany offering a long list of alternative treatments. We only found this blog post after we had already chosen our clinic though unfortunately. So have a look at them all and email or call them and get a sense of who you would like to work with. Remember this is a partnership between you and them, you are not just blindly following their recommendations. One of the main questions to ask is ‘what is your availability’. As most of them had a month or 2 waiting list, which in our case was too long.

We attended Hyperthermie Zentrum in Hannover and had an amazing experience. In all honesty we were in a bit of a rush as Mum’s cancer was so advanced so we only contacted 3 centres offering what we wanted (in our case this was low dose IPT chemo) and whoever had the earliest availability and made us feel the most comfortable (with quick detailed responses and even a phone call from the Dr) we went with.

If we had more time and Mum’s cancer was in an earlier stage we would have obviously contacted much more centres and took our time making this decision.

Just a fore-warning, these centres are not cheap. Hyperthermie Zentrum was more affordable than some others we contacted but even that was €4000 for 3 weeks of treatment + €400 per week for the chemo. so €5,200 + travel and 3 weeks accommodation. So we didn’t get much change from €10,000 for the whole trip.

We had such an amazing time though and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Hannover is a beautiful city and the alternative centres are nothing like a hospital. They are basically health centres with lovely waiting areas, friendly patients and staff. Everything seems much more relaxed and tranquil. The infusions are mainly things like Vitamin C, Ozone Therapy, Mistletoe, Iron etc which are all healthy and non toxic + hyperthermia which heats up the area telling your body where the cancer is, to encourage healing. So it was more like a holiday than treatment and we all looked back on it with fond memories.

We towed my caravan out there and stayed at a lakeside camp site in the height of summer getting lots of sun, and paddle boarding each night. Hannover has a huge ancient forest right in the centre which we all walked around every day before or after Mum’s treatments (her treatments were only 2-4 hours each day and even after the chemo days she felt absolutely fine and was able to walk, shop and paddle board). So it will likely be a very different experience to the treatments you might be used to in the UK or in other countries. The cost is obviously a huge factor and likely a barrier unfortunately but just set up a fundraising page, that’s what we did. We had such an amazing response from Mum’s friends and various groups she was in, all sharing it and doing their own fundraisers, so you CAN raise the money, don’t be afraid to ask for help!
