Whether it’s the job we choose, the clothes we wear, or the hobbies we pursue, there’s a persistent fear that people are watching and judging. But here’s a liberating truth: no one gives a sh*t about what you’re doing. Really!!

Everyone’s in Their Own Head

The reality is, most people are far too preoccupied with their own lives to pay much attention to yours. We all have our own worries, insecurities, and dreams that consume our thoughts. The average person is more concerned with how they are perceived by others than with judging someone else’s choices.

The Spotlight Effect

Psychologists call it the “spotlight effect” – the tendency to overestimate how much others notice and remember about our actions and appearance. We imagine that there’s a spotlight on us, highlighting every little mistake or decision. In reality, everyone else is under their own spotlight, too busy to notice ours.

Social Media: The Illusion of Attention

Social media amplifies the illusion that we’re always being watched. We see snippets of people’s lives and assume they’re constantly tuned into ours. But those likes, comments, and views? They’re fleeting moments in someone’s scrolling session, not deep analyses of your life.

The Freedom in Realising No One Cares

Once you accept that no one really gives a sh*t about what you’re doing, a sense of freedom emerges. You can make choices based on what you truly want, rather than what you think will please or impress others. This realisation can lead to a more authentic and fulfilling life.

In the grand scheme of things, we’re all just trying to navigate our own lives. The sooner we realise that others are too busy with their own concerns to focus on ours, the sooner we can liberate ourselves from the fear of judgment. Embrace this truth, and you might find a newfound freedom to live life on your own terms.
